On Saturday morning, November 15, 2003, Stacey and I boarded an American Airlines jet at NY's LaGuardia Airport enroute to the Big Easy. We're off to visit that old town and birthplace of Dixieland music. Michael and Lynn are meeting us there.
Wow! What a great city! Steeped in history with fabulous food, interesting people and great architecture, we walked, biked, street-carred and bussed ourselves all over exploring its neighborhoods.
Enjoy these photo-memories of our four day trip.

We Visit New Orleans
•
Stacey and I met Mike and Lynn at Louis Armstrong Airport (outside of New Orleans) on Saturday morning. We flew in from NY, they from Nashville. We took a limo from the airport to our B&B: the Block Keller House. We decided we wanted to stay outside of the French Quarter in a real neighborhood. This placed looked good on the web. It was! Two guys bought an old NOLA mansion in dilapidated condition and took 2 years to renovate it. They did it with immaculate sense of style. Highly recommended. The bus to downtown stopped right out front. Too bad, but next month (December 2003) the new Canal Street streetcar begins service. It will run right down the middle of Canal Street in front of our B&B and will take riders downtown in style!
